Anand Muthusamy

 

Anand is a Research Fellow at Convergent Research, where he leads a roadmapping and scientific effort focused on continuous physiological monitoring. He earned his PhD at Caltech, where he is now a Visiting Scientist. His graduate research focused on the protein engineering of biosensors and computer vision for quantifying behavior alongisde biosensing in vivo. This work was recognized by Caltech’s Demetriades-Tsafka-Kokkalis Award in Biotechnology. Previously, he completed his undergraduate training at the University of Pennsylvania, worked at Janelia Research Campus, HHMI, and has worked in biotech venture capital as a Bio-IT Fellow at 8VC and an Associate at Pillar VC.

Anand was born and raised in Houston, TX. He loves all animals, especially the family dog, Louie. He enjoys all things sports, speed, and the outdoors. His favorites are hiking, basketball (long-time), and skiing (brand new).
